Gus Commercials Achieves IRTE Workshop Accreditation & irtec Licensing

Gus Commercials' commercial vehicle workshop showing IRTE workshop accreditation logo

Gus Commercials is proud to be one of only two independent workshops in Northern Ireland to have an IRTE accredited workshop – the best practice audit of workshop standards.  This is an independent standard that was developed by the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE), a professional sector of the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE).  You can find us on the IRTE Workshop Accreditation Register.

On the register you will find a list of our facilities and services, as well as our first time test pass rate, pass after Rectification at Station (PRS) rate and the number of RIDDORs (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) in the past year.

We are also proud to have irtec licensed technicians working for us.  irtec is a voluntary licensing scheme, also created by the IRTE, which validates the competence of commercial vehicle technicians.  irtec is recognised as the industry benchmark of skills and knowledge and to be licensed our technicians have had to be audited and certified as competent.   You can find the names of our technicians on the irtec Technicians Directory.

As part of the irtec license technicians are bound by a code of conduct, which states that all irtec license holders shall, by their conduct, uphold the reputation of the profession in applying the specialist discipline of the maintenance, repair and inspection of road transport vehicles and their related engineering activities.
