Light Vehicle Technicians & Service Advisor / Workshop Controller

From our premises in Mallusk, Newtownabbey, Gus Commercials Ltd caters for transport requirements across County Antrim and the Greater Belfast area, including new and used commercial vehicle sales, contract hire and short-term truck and van rentals, all supported by its IRTEC accredited technicians and IRTE accredited workshop.

Gus Commercials Ltd is one of Northern Ireland’s most reputable independent providers of commercial vehicle hire, sales, servicing and parts and is known for the great care we take with clients and employees alike.

Having recently been acquired by Traction Finance, we are looking to expand our workshop operation and are looking for applicants to fill the following roles:

đź”´ Service Advisor / Workshop Controller

 

Service Advisor/Workshop Controller

 

Responsibilities:

  • To supervise the service reception area and ensure customer concerns and queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
  • To load the workshop effectively and efficiently ensuring that we maximise labour sales on any given day by allocating the right job to the right technician thus taking full advantage of their technical skills and abilities.
  • Ensure that the correct documentation is accurately completed and that customer records are maintained.
  • To develop, manage and motivate the technicians including their environment, resource, and repair standards.

Requirements:

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Service Advisor or similar position. Preferable within the Commercial Vehicle Industry
  • Relevant City and Guilds, BTEC or NVQ qualifications.
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, be well-presented and have a professional telephone manner.
  • Have a Full Driving Licence?
  • Either hold a current HGV licence or be prepared to obtain an HGV licence

Light Vehicle Technicians

 

Responsibilities:

  • To receive work instructions from job card and ensure that these are fully carried out.
  • To work to franchiser and company service schedules and quality standards in respect off all work undertaken.
  • To investigate reported problems using special tools and diagnostic equipment as necessary obtaining advice from senior staff if problems cannot be resolved.

Requirements:

  • Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ Qualifications.
  • Recent experience with modern Vehicle’s (Preferably with a manufacturer).
  • Practical knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment/techniques.
  • Full driving licence
  • Ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Have served a full Technical Apprenticeship, Knowledge of Mechanics, Knowledge of Electrical Systems, Dealership Experience, Customer Service Skills, Experience with Used Vehicles, Detail-Oriented, Strong Organisation, Team Leadership Skills, Strong Communication Skills, Creative Problem-Solving, Troubleshooting, Vehicle Diagnostics
